Dear Friends,
First of all WELCOME to the web site of the Festival Tamasonghoï the first community festival in Bourem !!!

The event will be held in January 2012 the 17, 18 and 19 in Bourem North Mali about 95 km from Gao and 320 km from Timbuktu.

Great live music and dj’s, dance, theatre, children play, tasty food and beverages, craft market, races (dug boat, horses, donkeys…), conferences, workshops, shops (official t-shirt, posters…) and much more !!!!

This will be a 100% Responsible, Fair and Eco friendly festival!!!!!!

The aim of the festival is to share and to communicate the rich culture of North Mali (Songhay, Tamasheq, Bozos, Arabs….)the Niger river and the desert .
and of course to enjoy great blues, rock and traditional music along with races, theatre and other events….

All the profits will be used for community projects and for the next edition of the festival !!! because we want to create a cultural gathering each year in Bourem !!!!

How to get there ?

Within Mali

From Gao

By 4X4 (private) use the sandy track Gao-Bourem about 2 H
By 4X4 (public) in Gao ask for the Bourem place about 4 H
By pinasse (private) start at the port of Gao at the right side about 6 H
By pinasse (public) start at the port of Gao at the right side about 12 H

From Timbuktu

By 4X4 (private) use the sandy track Timbuktu-Bourem about 8 H
By 4X4 (public) quite difficult to find opportunities but enquire around Timbuktu but request  » the cabine » !!!! about 12 H
By pinasse (private) start at the port of Kabara about 2 days (you have to arrange it before you go to the port !!!)
By pinasse (public) start at the port of Kabara about 2-6 days

The time are subject to change and are just there to give you an idea but are not under the control of the festival organizers!!!
The festival will organize transport for you from Gao and from Timbuktu by 4X4 and or Pinasse (boat)
Don’t forget to reserve !!!!

From Europe and the rest of the world

There are flights from most of the capitals of Europe to Bamako, then take the bus to Gao.

Food and beverage

On the site you will find a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, inexpensive and the meals will be generous and tasty….
You will also find bars with water, naturals fruits juice…. inexpensive !!!

Campsite

You will have space for your own tent. For those without a tent there will be space available in traditional tents (Songhay and tamasheq) by group
Also natural showers and toilets

The campsite, the restaurant and the bars will be open one day before and after the festival…
